The Adventures into the Forest of Fejertelep-Susara

Adventures happen unexpectedly. It is unplanned and it is just happen. Sometimes, it was so tiring but it’s fun and worth to remember.  In our three weeks here in Serbia, we have visited most of the major towns and cities. One of the furthest of all was the town of Susara. It's pretty much colder there because of its forest – man-made forest.

This place was used to be a desert (sandy and no plants 100 years ago).  The local people had started to plant trees and grass to protect the good soil during sand storm. As the result, they are now enjoying the firewood from the forest and beautiful place.

For our two nights and three days stay here in Fejertelep-Susara, we really enjoyed the fresh air and the green place; which are really pleasing to the eye. When you are on the top of the hills, it is really breathtaking and very cold up there. A piece of advice, don’t ever forget to bring your jacket.

On our first day, Katalin and her mom accompanied us to see the first pine tree forest. Along the way, we saw the flocks of sheep with their shepherd. We discovered how food chain works here specially the bugs, which eat manure from the sheep. Then, we came there to see their cemetery and went around the town by her car.

The second day was so exciting because I need to ride the bike to go to the next forest to see the Hungarian breed cows that have long horns. The journey in going there was the challenging part because the sandy road way to that is in slope - going up and down. On the other side of the road heading to the forest was in mud, so we need to walk going there to see the wild boar.

When we were about to go home, I went ahead of them, so I could keep up because I knew I was too slow in riding bike. Unfortunately, I was lost and I was sure I went the wrong way, so I went back and found the Fejertelep-Susara road, finally. Then, I felt safe that I was heading back home and I saw Tibor was heading back to search for me.

In the afternoon, Tibor’s uncle, Anthony guided us in going around the hills and we were amazed about the beautiful sight of its nature and listening to the busy bees making honey in the small bee farm nearby.

On the third day, we did the mushroom hunting. We went back to the hills where we went the other day. We picked like four mushrooms that were good for our snacks before we went home. Then, we met the shepherd who was guiding his cows with his guard dogs. The scary part was these dogs were about to attack us. I would remember not to separate from the group and don’t show any signs of fear. Then, we have chance to talk with him.

Thus, we knew we have short time to stay and soon we would go back home in Debeljaca. Therefore, we have to enjoy every moment that has left here. My husband and I went to top hill to make our honeymoon memorable. We brought with us our sleeping bags. At last, we played football and walk around the nature with Bella, Andrea, her mom Katalin and my husband, Tibor.

Our three days are full of fun and excitement. We know that we have a lot of memories to remember by when we will be back home. Thanks to our uncle Anthony (Antibatya) and his family specially Katalin and Bella for always guiding us in going around Susara and being part of our FOREST ADVENTURE.

Memories in Austria from June 7 to June 16

Day 1 in Vienna – June 7, 2012 Leaving Budapest makes me sad, but going to Vienna makes me so excited. Another cultural experience has been waiting for us. So, the day before we left the country, we made sure that we have the necessary foods for the trip and cash because we need to buy train ticket. We woke up early and started walking at 5am heading to the Train Station, Budapest- Keleti. We supposed to leave at 6:05 am; however, there was something wrong with the rail jet, so we were transferred to another train that left at 7:10. We reached in Wein Meilding station in Austria at 9: 58am. Of course, travelling is not really all fun. I felt so tired specially, you can’t sleep well and you have to wake up so early. This train or Railjet 60 is much faster than the train we had from Bekes while the train from Debeljaca to Becej is the slowest of all. This is really second to Bullet Train. They have comfortable seats and ventilations. They give us program to inform us about ...

Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey

Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque are the most beautiful mosque I've ever seen in my life. Looking at this makes me feel better after having a feeling of nausea of the 10-hour-trip. I felt relieved when we arrived safely in Istanbul, Turkey. I've realized that this gonna be the biggest trip ever. Ending the last leg of the Euro trip with a bang!!! Hagia Sophia Blue Mosque

Copenhagen: The Model of Happiness and Unity

June 26-27, 2012 Horrifying Check-up from Customs Reaching Copenhagen is not easy journey as what we usually had. We were in the middle of the road like for 10 hours. With in those hours, we were checked by the two group of customs from Germany and Denmark.  It was horrifying the fact that they have to check our passport one by one.  Both of these customs had different goals in mind. Like the Germans, they have to check for illegal immigrants. One of us was found that there was something wrong with his passport. He was asked to get off and not to continue the trip. Not only that, after we crossed the sea for 45 minutes in a Roll on Roll off ship, we were being checked by the Danish customs. It was quite horrifying because they were checking if your passport was real or not. Aside from that, since this Eurolines bus was from Amsterdam, they were also checking for stash or drugs.  Guess what! Four of them were asked to get off for full body scan ...
