Athens and its Myth and History: Our Experience and Story Series 1

Memories in Athens ( October 10-14, 2012) Since I was a kid, I always try not to write bad memories on my diary because I want to forget them. As John Irving says your memory is a monster; you forget, but it doesn't. I just tried to hide it. One way to deal with bad memories is to talk about it and acknowledge it that it happens and move on. So, I am going to include here on my journal that this may serve as a lesson for me and for everyone. Of course my trip to Athens is both a remarkable experience and a lesson to learn. After an hour flight on a small plane with twin propellers of Olympic air, we landed Athens. Feeling so excited, that finally, I arrived in my dream place- the place which the most-people-talk-a-about. Finding our accommodation was not easy for us. We got lost and we just headed to the wrong street. We only realized this when a Greek lady told us that we were walking along the Venizelou Street and not the main road, which would suppose to

Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey

Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque are the most beautiful mosque I've ever seen in my life. Looking at this makes me feel better after having a feeling of nausea of the 10-hour-trip. I felt relieved when we arrived safely in Istanbul, Turkey. I've realized that this gonna be the biggest trip ever. Ending the last leg of the Euro trip with a bang!!! Hagia Sophia Blue Mosque

Greece: My Quest to Conquer my Fear

If it is not a bad news it will never be on TV. This has been my realization over watching TV news. Lately, I felt I had to avoid being engrossed with the tube programs because it makes me go crazy and it creates a great fear inside.  This is what happen to us when we were about to fly out from Serbia to Greece. My husband had to read news everyday about any happenings in our destination. Sudden fear fed me up that I asked him if it was possible not to continue the trip. Well... my husband is a risk taker and said," They have their own business and so as we. We won't intervene with their agenda." Those words struck me and just went to his flow. I can't understand why bad news is/are readable to the public and that cause/s people to fear traveling and rather like to be stuck in their own comfort zone. This really annoys me so much. I feel sorry for them they miss the beautiful adventures of life. To elaborate this further, I have a friend who

Stumbling on Party Capital in Europe

Serbia: Bringing the Good Memories Back from my Second Home

I can't forget my 26th Birthday in Serbia. I can't believe time went so fast; it seems were just arrived an hour ago. Serbia plays a significant part of my life because this is the only country where I stayed most of my days in Europe. Its cities, towns and villages printed important memories in my heart. On our first day in the country, I could still remember how we get to the place. Tibor is just trying to recall everything he could 25 years ago. He remembered where to ride the bus, but… he couldn’t recall where it was exactly. We decided to catch train instead of bus. A lot of people where squashing inside the train and so excited to go home. As far as I could remember, that was around afternoon like 3pm when people had to go home from work. I heard from them that there was no bus today because the farmers who barricaded the road with their tractors were on STRIKE. . You could see to these local people the anger and the need to go home. That was rea
