Create a Perfect Day at Gyula, Hungary

If you want to create a perfect day, you should visit Gyula, Hungary. Gyula with its busy tourism is one of the most popular resort towns of Hungary, the center of tourism in county Bekes. The town is ideal for relaxation due to its pleasant climate, shady parks and peace.

One of the famous attractions in Gyula is the Var es Varkilato or the castle museum.  This is open to all the public with the 1500 ft as the entrance fee per person. Tibor and I were really so amazed with its gothic bricks which built from 15th century. The upstairs visitors can see the rooms belonging to the lord, lady, and the commander of the castle, as well as the office room, the reception room of the sanjak bey, an armoury, the halberdiers room and the knights’ room.

At the downstairs, you can find the castle prison which made me feel sad upon seeing the pictures how people tortured and punished during medieval time. You can see in the other room the larder, this is the common place in the house to store food before the refrigerator came, blacksmiths workshop, a pottery workshop, which is also a museum pedagogical room, a wine bar and a chapel.

While going around the place and taking videos and pictures, I have met a Pinay student from Italy named Iridge Udson from Pangasinan who was also having school tour with her classmates. I was so happy to see a Filipino there.

My day was really perfect because I spent my day in castle with my King, Tibor. We actually had a good time after we climbed up the tower. From there, you can see the world. This makes me feel so relax and contemplating. Finally, we ended our castle visitation by Archery - one of the highlights to make our day perfect. It only cost 500 ft(2 USD/80-100 peso) for 5 attempts.

Next to castle adventure is the thermal bath or castle bath, which is the main attraction here in Gyula. It is a medicinal bath and with 19 pools. It’s brown like tea and warm that runs from 30- 36 degrees Celsius. It was awarded the classification of a four- star – the highest category- open-air and medicinal baths. It has developed, now, it offers new, indoor pleasure pools, spa, a wellness centre (sauna and Jacuzzi), new medical treatments, children’s water paradise, bubble bath and a wave bath to visitors like us. Unfortunately, wave bath was not available, so we felt sad we couldn't try it. But, no worries, there are many baths you can try. We tried the medicinal bath and bubble bath to make our day perfect and fun. It was so relaxing. We wish to stay more days, but we need to leave to Budapest the next day.

Well, if you are in budget, you can enjoy just the scenery of the place like river and lake. I like their park and how they well maintain the fountain and its flowers – so beautiful that I enjoyed picking lavenders. You can take pictures with the famous and historical monuments and palaces. You can also try river kayaking here.

There are a lot of ways on how to make your day perfect here in Gyula, Hungary. You can do sight seeing, river kayaking and swimming. Don't forget to always keep the map with you, so you won’t get lost. You can ask map from the tourist centre. When I looked at the map, I was really surprise that we have visited few places out of 21 tourist spots. Meaning, there are a lot of place to visit from. Finally, the most important thing to make your day perfect is to spend your days in Gyula, Hungary with the special someone or with the person you love - your family, friends or lover. I am sure you will have a lot of beautiful memories here.

Memories in Austria from June 7 to June 16

Day 1 in Vienna – June 7, 2012 Leaving Budapest makes me sad, but going to Vienna makes me so excited. Another cultural experience has been waiting for us. So, the day before we left the country, we made sure that we have the necessary foods for the trip and cash because we need to buy train ticket. We woke up early and started walking at 5am heading to the Train Station, Budapest- Keleti. We supposed to leave at 6:05 am; however, there was something wrong with the rail jet, so we were transferred to another train that left at 7:10. We reached in Wein Meilding station in Austria at 9: 58am. Of course, travelling is not really all fun. I felt so tired specially, you can’t sleep well and you have to wake up so early. This train or Railjet 60 is much faster than the train we had from Bekes while the train from Debeljaca to Becej is the slowest of all. This is really second to Bullet Train. They have comfortable seats and ventilations. They give us program to inform us about ...

Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey

Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque are the most beautiful mosque I've ever seen in my life. Looking at this makes me feel better after having a feeling of nausea of the 10-hour-trip. I felt relieved when we arrived safely in Istanbul, Turkey. I've realized that this gonna be the biggest trip ever. Ending the last leg of the Euro trip with a bang!!! Hagia Sophia Blue Mosque

Copenhagen: The Model of Happiness and Unity

June 26-27, 2012 Horrifying Check-up from Customs Reaching Copenhagen is not easy journey as what we usually had. We were in the middle of the road like for 10 hours. With in those hours, we were checked by the two group of customs from Germany and Denmark.  It was horrifying the fact that they have to check our passport one by one.  Both of these customs had different goals in mind. Like the Germans, they have to check for illegal immigrants. One of us was found that there was something wrong with his passport. He was asked to get off and not to continue the trip. Not only that, after we crossed the sea for 45 minutes in a Roll on Roll off ship, we were being checked by the Danish customs. It was quite horrifying because they were checking if your passport was real or not. Aside from that, since this Eurolines bus was from Amsterdam, they were also checking for stash or drugs.  Guess what! Four of them were asked to get off for full body scan ...
