A Special Commune with Rome and its History

"Worst Unforeseen Traveling Exhibition to Rome"

As plan we had to catch the train from Venice to Rome. We thought everything was easy as we planned, but it turned out to be in the worst scenario. It was 10:05 P.M. we decided to leave the camp site and started walking to the bus station for bus no. 5. We missed to hear the alarm clock because after we arrived from the Venice City at 9P.M. we were asleep. We packed for only 15 minutes and bringing this heavy backpacks and other stuff. We were waited up for the bus for an hour. I was in a sweat and agitated that we almost missed the train. Eventually, after an hour of waiting bus 5 came. We  had 30 minutes before the train departed. Al of the sudden, the bus driver had to stop and told us to transfer to another bus station.

Oh! the doziness and exhausted by battling after roaming around Venice was so visible that I was sitting on the bus floor using my backpack as to cushion my butt.

The rising of my blood and the palpitation with terror to miss the train were the things I felt. I was bringing my bag and I felt I couldn't hold on to it. It was becoming heavier and heavier as if it dragged me down. It made me slower and slower in running to keep up with my husband, Tibor. He was faster than I do, so he checked if the trains was gone. Worse luck, our train was cancelled. No people in the train station who could help us. We asked from the maintenance staff on where to catch the bus that went to the second train station, Menstri Station. He said that we had to get on to NL bus. We did catch it on time, but we didn't where and how it went there. I asked those Indian passengers. They said we can stop in just that corner and just walked through the street. Hmm-mm... We met new friends and they accompany us to the train station because they were living nearby.  It was not really a joke!!! It is quite far to walk bringing with the heavy bag on your back. At last, we saw it and we knew we were on the right way. We got inside and looked for the flat form 8 to wait for the train that would go to Rome. The twist of this experience was... we learn that the bus NL really stops at the Menstri Train Station. If only we had never get off, we wouldn't have to walk and carry our baggage all this far.

In Rome...

It is like the old times, we felt the strange being in an unfamiliar place. You felt terrified and you don't know what happen. Especially, if you have negative prior knowledge about the place. They said that we should be careful because the thieves are everywhere. They will snatch your bag if you are so careless, so we were so careful and always on guard for our baggage.

The first thing we did as soon as we got off from the train station,  we alternately looked for a map and asked where was the bus station. The information center said that the international bus station was located at Tibortina. We needed to get on Metro line B in Termini line 1. After we'd known where, so we started to look for our accommodation.

We've been spending a lot of time together now.  I hope we don't have disagreements this time like the previous trips. And so, we went to the bus station and bought the ticket for Nice. We were worrisome still because we didn't know if we can get the ticket to Vienna on that day of our departure plan.

As soon as we finished the transaction, we started to do our first step again to reveal the unmapped. We started our first step heading to the Coliseum. It left us blown away with its magnificence, mountainous and chronicled place of gladiator.
Outside view of the Coliseum

Since this is the nearest stop from our accommodation, so easy to go around on foot. This is  a-must-see place.

On the next day... free tour time
We had the two tours. In the morning, we had the Vatican City tour and the The Colosseum, or the Coliseum, originally the Flavian Amphitheatre tour afternoon was the Col. we visited the following places.
Arco di Constantine

St. Peter Basilica Cathedral in Vatican City

After all this adventures, we were not yet tired and instead we went to the beach after the tour at night.  We thought it was just inside the city, but we were dismayed that it was really far. There was no way for us to come back. It was too late. We really had to go to Lido Centro. What we were terrified about was to miss the metro line and we couldn’t go home before 12mn. We had some negative anticipation on this undertaking. We asked the guards what time the metro line would shut off and that cause us to running looking for the beach. We felt so serene about seeing the beach. It is really another successful venture. We went home very satisfied even it was late but we happen to see the pyramid in Rome.

Vatican city was the highlight of the trip. I visit the city again on the next to have closer look and to buy souvenirs. It is very immaculate and huge inside. There is a particular small room, where it is only exclusively for prayers and devotions. This was our last day before leaving to Nice, France at 4P.M. so we stayed in Piazza Vittorio Emmanuelle II to have a powerful nap.

Memories in Austria from June 7 to June 16

Day 1 in Vienna – June 7, 2012 Leaving Budapest makes me sad, but going to Vienna makes me so excited. Another cultural experience has been waiting for us. So, the day before we left the country, we made sure that we have the necessary foods for the trip and cash because we need to buy train ticket. We woke up early and started walking at 5am heading to the Train Station, Budapest- Keleti. We supposed to leave at 6:05 am; however, there was something wrong with the rail jet, so we were transferred to another train that left at 7:10. We reached in Wein Meilding station in Austria at 9: 58am. Of course, travelling is not really all fun. I felt so tired specially, you can’t sleep well and you have to wake up so early. This train or Railjet 60 is much faster than the train we had from Bekes while the train from Debeljaca to Becej is the slowest of all. This is really second to Bullet Train. They have comfortable seats and ventilations. They give us program to inform us about

Lesson learned: Expect the Unexpected

T raveling is not e asy e specially  when you have to step out of your comfort zone.  A ll the inconvenience, desperation, and unexpected troubles that happened during the trip  are  lessons to reflect upon.  We  have proven how risky traveling is  w hen my husband and I went to Europe for our honeymoon last year. T here were  times  we  put  our selves in danger because  we  messed out  our  bookings  and things didn't work out as  we  planned them. Since the first day of our trip, we were used  to booking our next departure  ticket  ever y time  we arrived in a city. It was in contrast on what happen in Sweden. We didn’t know that we had to book the ticket from Copenhagen. Apparently, we thought that we are getting ahead, but we are not. We had  to call Denmark's office to book the ticket knowing that we had no where to print it. It was a blessing that the Sony Center allowed us to print the ticket.   When we arrived in our next destination, Germany to

Letting Go of All Worries in Donna Buang Snow Mountain, Warburton | Snowplay | August 12, 2019

They say that winter always describes as cold, numbness, scarcity even associates with death. For me, that is snow, that is those days of bluster and ice that can be dangerous, but it can be also magical. It is a flash of diamonds that are covered everywhere. It is just all pure and white. May I wish that these thick pillows adorned on the trees and the soft and fluffy snow I am stepping on could heal all my worries about the future. Yet today, I am happy simply to walk with my family in it, it creates footprints of our own. The snow is soft enough that walking itself is very challenging because aside from it is so slippery, my feet are plunging to it. " God... please help me not to slip." The worried thoughts of a 27- week pregnant mommy me. And this is my winter pregnancy worries.
