How are you guys? I hope this next blog finds you well. You will be pleased to hear about Zsolnay culture today. This is the oldest culture we found in Pecs, Hungary.
The buildings in the city are so beautiful tiled with this colorful ceramics. Not just on the floor, but on the roof and walls. Amazing right? You might it is very impossible, but they actually do extraordinary from an ordinary ceramics. To prove that, we visit the Zsolnay family and factory exhibition. This is a permanent exhibition introducing the zsolnay family and their factory founded 1853, in the oldest building of the site - where the legend began.
Not only this, but you can find other exhibitions like Zsolnay Exhibition - Barnabas Winkler Collection of pink glaze as a result of pink experiments carried out by Vilmos Zsonay; Zsolnay's golden Age - Laszlo Gyugyi's collection who lives in America, represents a magnificent introduction to the ceramics from the period of Historicism and Art Nouveau. And of course, you can witness the Zsolnay Mausoleum and Zsolnay live Manufactory. Each has different entrance price, so don't forget to inquire from the in-charge.
Since we have limited time, we have to go back to Szeged before 5 o'clock in the afternoon, so we chose to get to know the family and the factory up close. Here is what we found out.
