Stumbling on Party Capital in Europe

As according to the lonely planet, Belgrade, Serbia is the number one party town in the world. There's no doubt, Belgrade really rocks because of their varied nightlife. On our last day in Serbia, we really took the chance to be part of the busy restaurants with our friends.
Even on this expensive bridge even how desperate the traffic is, they even hold parties here. You can find party pubs and clubs under this bridge.

Not only its ambience, they have also beautiful places that you must see in the city.

Square of the Republic, simply known as kod konja (Serbian for ' at the horse')

The most popular of all is the republic square in Serbia, " the horse"... The locals say, " meet me at the horse". This is their meeting place. While we were waiting for our tour guide at the horse, I could see a lot of people waiting on the square and very busy looking for someone and even checking the time, It is really fantastic having a easy landmark like this especially when you are new to the place.

Kafana is the term used in the former Yugoslav countries. It is the type of local bistro, which primarily serves alcohol. For us now, it is the concept of a place where like bars and restaurants where we usually gather to drink alcohol. You can also come here to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner or just to hang around with your friends. What makes these travelers and local people come here at night is to commune with the serene gypsy live band. And, everything is allowed to do here. You can dance on the table and the highest level is if you are under the table because it means you are fully intoxicated. Tipping is also their culture. You can give tips to the band in many ways like rolled the bill and throw it to their drums or stick the bill on their heads. It's sound funny, but it is the fun way for them to do it.

Of course when you are drinking, don't miss to drink their national drink the "rakia". It is an alcohol beverage that is fermented with fruit. Usually, they drink this at the monument of Dura Jaksic. Our guide asked us why? I can't even get why and how come they have to drink at this statue. She told a story.

This famous painter was used to be a drunkard, but he promised himself to be sober and avoid alcohols. He actually lived here and this statue is in front of his old house. Imagine, everyday walking along this streets full of wine and alcohol. So, his friend came to tease him and invited him to join them to drink. Of course, he refused. Until one day, they gave him a reward for being so consistent for keeping his promise to avoid alcohol. As a gift they gave him a bottle of alcohol. From then on, he went back to drowning himself with it.
Maybe for some this statue is about alcoholism, but for others... they stop here to aspire him as an artist and to get motivation to paint.

I think the best place I've ever seen in this city is its breathtaking view above the fortress. This Belgrade Fortress was declared as Monument of Culture of Exceptional Importance in 1979 and being protected by Republic of Serbia. It has a very nice Kalemegdan Park and from up there, you can see the two rivers Sava and Danube meet.
This was the money before in 1990's. Just the inflation rate went mad, yesterday you could buy a car with this amount, but the next day, the value dropped and you could only buy a piece of something.

Center of Serbian Language and Culture

We are not really fun going pub-crawls, but we both love music. Anyway, we are just being practical that we can listen music and songs on the square by some local musicians. We just love to hang around, enjoying the view, taking pictures and amaze with the beautiful dancing lights of the city. Knowing its story is more important for us. This is the best way to have memorable experience during the trip. When you come to know the city and its history, you will surely be endowed with its magnificence and beauty.

Memories in Austria from June 7 to June 16

Day 1 in Vienna – June 7, 2012 Leaving Budapest makes me sad, but going to Vienna makes me so excited. Another cultural experience has been waiting for us. So, the day before we left the country, we made sure that we have the necessary foods for the trip and cash because we need to buy train ticket. We woke up early and started walking at 5am heading to the Train Station, Budapest- Keleti. We supposed to leave at 6:05 am; however, there was something wrong with the rail jet, so we were transferred to another train that left at 7:10. We reached in Wein Meilding station in Austria at 9: 58am. Of course, travelling is not really all fun. I felt so tired specially, you can’t sleep well and you have to wake up so early. This train or Railjet 60 is much faster than the train we had from Bekes while the train from Debeljaca to Becej is the slowest of all. This is really second to Bullet Train. They have comfortable seats and ventilations. They give us program to inform us about ...

Lesson learned: Expect the Unexpected

T raveling is not e asy e specially  when you have to step out of your comfort zone.  A ll the inconvenience, desperation, and unexpected troubles that happened during the trip  are  lessons to reflect upon.  We  have proven how risky traveling is  w hen my husband and I went to Europe for our honeymoon last year. T here were  times  we  put  our selves in danger because  we  messed out  our  bookings  and things didn't work out as  we  planned them. Since the first day of our trip, we were used  to booking our next departure  ticket  ever y time  we arrived in a city. It was in contrast on what happen in Sweden. We didn’t know that we had to book the ticket from Copenhagen. Apparently, we thought that we are getting ahead, but we are not. We had  to call Denmark's office to book the ticket knowing that we had no where to print it. It was a blessing that the S...

Letting Go of All Worries in Donna Buang Snow Mountain, Warburton | Snowplay | August 12, 2019

They say that winter always describes as cold, numbness, scarcity even associates with death. For me, that is snow, that is those days of bluster and ice that can be dangerous, but it can be also magical. It is a flash of diamonds that are covered everywhere. It is just all pure and white. May I wish that these thick pillows adorned on the trees and the soft and fluffy snow I am stepping on could heal all my worries about the future. Yet today, I am happy simply to walk with my family in it, it creates footprints of our own. The snow is soft enough that walking itself is very challenging because aside from it is so slippery, my feet are plunging to it. " God... please help me not to slip." The worried thoughts of a 27- week pregnant mommy me. And this is my winter pregnancy worries. Family on Snowplay in Mount Donna Buang, Warburton As I was holding Hannah on my left hand while I was holding the bars walking slow...
