Bantayan Island Diaries

First day - November 25, 2015

I have heard about Bantayan from my friends and they said it is the paradise of the northern part of Cebu. But of course, I was so skeptical of going there because of the Yolanda destruction. After researching if they have fully recovered and read blogs, so we have decided to go to this very attractive island. We woke up very early in the morning after my daughter Hannah woke up. :) Actually, she is our daily alarm clock.

We had all our bags ready - most are Hannah's stuff - heater, rice cooker, her bottle and like. It is very challenging to travel with a baby. I am thankful that we took her nanny with us,

But -- it was fun knowing that we survived the entire trip with her starting from riding the taxi (from Basak Pardo to North Bus Terminal). We paid 170 pesos and 10 pesos entrance fee for the taxi if you want him to get inside the terminal to drop off your baggage. The good thing was we took the bus immediately to Hagnaya, San Remegio around 5:30 in the morning; we arrived 8:30 in the morning with 10 minutes stop somewhere in Danao to stretch our legs.
.
I'm just glad that Hannah was still sleeping. Not anymore and she started to cry when we almost get to the port.  Since we arrive an hour before an hour  the huge green RORO which all trucks could fit in left. Only a few people can fit in the passenger seats, we just consumed our time from eating breakfast and then ready to go.I think you should prepare 170 pesos for the fare plus 10 peso terminal fee.

Well... as a mother, I always interpret that my child was pretty excited to get there soon as much as I was. She never cried and instead she was sleeping in the boat until we docked in. And, there was a trike guy who met us and negotiating to send us to our cottages or accommodation. But in our mistake, we never let him pick us from the port and instead we chose to walk along and until we could get through the exit. *Pretty far!

and for 20 pesos each, he took us to our Bantayan Cottages which is 400 per night for not aircon room and 600 for aircon one. Then, we spent our day to rest and explore the Sta. Fe town and its marketplace where we were happy we bought a tuna but not exactly for 95 pesos for a half kilo. To take us there, we need to catch trike for 10 pesos, but actually, you can walk if you want.

Finally, we spent the rest of the day watching the sunset and enjoy the breeze and white sand of the paradise.

Memories in Austria from June 7 to June 16

Day 1 in Vienna – June 7, 2012 Leaving Budapest makes me sad, but going to Vienna makes me so excited. Another cultural experience has been waiting for us. So, the day before we left the country, we made sure that we have the necessary foods for the trip and cash because we need to buy train ticket. We woke up early and started walking at 5am heading to the Train Station, Budapest- Keleti. We supposed to leave at 6:05 am; however, there was something wrong with the rail jet, so we were transferred to another train that left at 7:10. We reached in Wein Meilding station in Austria at 9: 58am. Of course, travelling is not really all fun. I felt so tired specially, you can’t sleep well and you have to wake up so early. This train or Railjet 60 is much faster than the train we had from Bekes while the train from Debeljaca to Becej is the slowest of all. This is really second to Bullet Train. They have comfortable seats and ventilations. They give us program to inform us about ...

Mosque in Istanbul, Turkey

Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque are the most beautiful mosque I've ever seen in my life. Looking at this makes me feel better after having a feeling of nausea of the 10-hour-trip. I felt relieved when we arrived safely in Istanbul, Turkey. I've realized that this gonna be the biggest trip ever. Ending the last leg of the Euro trip with a bang!!! Hagia Sophia Blue Mosque

Copenhagen: The Model of Happiness and Unity

June 26-27, 2012 Horrifying Check-up from Customs Reaching Copenhagen is not easy journey as what we usually had. We were in the middle of the road like for 10 hours. With in those hours, we were checked by the two group of customs from Germany and Denmark.  It was horrifying the fact that they have to check our passport one by one.  Both of these customs had different goals in mind. Like the Germans, they have to check for illegal immigrants. One of us was found that there was something wrong with his passport. He was asked to get off and not to continue the trip. Not only that, after we crossed the sea for 45 minutes in a Roll on Roll off ship, we were being checked by the Danish customs. It was quite horrifying because they were checking if your passport was real or not. Aside from that, since this Eurolines bus was from Amsterdam, they were also checking for stash or drugs.  Guess what! Four of them were asked to get off for full body scan ...
